Allyson Felix

Allyson Michelle Felix was born Los Angeles on November 18 1985. Felix's father Paul Felix is an ordained minister at Master's Seminary, Sun Valley. As for her mother, Marlean Felix is a teacher at Balboa Magnet Primary School. Felix showed a flair for athletics early on discovering her talent for sprinting when she attended the Los Angeles Baptist High School. In only 10 weeks following her initial attempt, she was second in the 200 meter race in the U.S. Indoor Track and Field Championship. Felix completed high school in 2003, and became a part of Adidas an agreement as an athlete in professional competition. Following that, she enrolled at the University of Southern California studying elementary education. Felix was awarded her first Olympic gold medal during the Athens Summer Olympics 2004. Felix broke a junior-world record running 200 meters for 22.18. She was the youngest world champion of 200 meters during the Helsinki World Championships. She was able to defend her title in 2007 beating her long-time Jamaican opponent Veronica Campbell. Felix competed at the Olympics in Beijing London Rio de Janeiro as well as Tokyo always finishing in the top three places in all her events.
